What is a wagering requirement?
A wagering requirement is a condition attached to some casino promotions. It is normally expressed as a multiple, such as 20x, 30x or 40x.
The number describes how many times a specified amount must be wagered before the promotional balance may become withdrawable, subject to all other terms.
A simple example
Suppose a promotion provides a bonus of €20 with a 30x wagering requirement applied to the bonus amount.
In that example, the wagering target would be:
€20 × 30 = €600
This does not mean that €600 is guaranteed to be returned to the player. It only illustrates how the wagering target is calculated.
Check what amount the requirement applies to
Some promotions apply the wagering multiple only to the bonus amount, while others may calculate it using both the deposit and the bonus.
Because this can make a significant difference, always check the exact calculation described in the promotion terms.
Not every game may contribute equally
Different games may contribute differently toward wagering requirements. Some games may count fully, some may contribute at a reduced rate and others may be excluded entirely.
